The Madonie Adventure Park

Do your children love tree-climbing and playing in the woods then you better visit the Madonie Adventure Park (Il Parco Avventura Madonie). This fabulous playground is situated in the Madonie National Park in the northern part of Sicily not far from Palermo. It is an excellent place to visit during your holiday in Sicily and will guarantee not only your children lots of fun but also you as parents. There is definitely enough to do to spend a whole day in the adventure park!

The woods are an excellent place for fun activities and you can among others try ropeladder-walking, cable slides and tree climbing. The level of difficulty varies so children in all ages can play along. If you are afraid of heights you may instead try a more earthbound activity such as mountain biking, horseback riding or hiking.

There is a large picnic area in the park with plenty of tables, benches and a grill. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink supplies and make use of the grill – just remember to bring your own charcoal. If you prefer having the food catered this is also possible as long as you order minimum 24 hours in advance. The picnic basket consists of local fresh products such as meat, bread and cheese.

You will have to pay a small fee to enter the park (free admission for children under 12 years of age) and each activity can then be enjoyed at various fees.

If you want to go all in you can spend a night in one of the five tree tents set up in the park. The tents are set 6 meters above ground and sleep 3 persons each. There are however also a few tents on the ground in case parts of the family should feel more comfortable at ground level.
